Get off your A$$....no, really.
Attention grabbing, eh? Effective? Maybe. But as a major key, it’s truth in written form. Don’t leave, that’s the last cuss word in this blog. Promise. Still here? Cool, take a walk with me real quick....
Let me start by saying, this blog is specifically for those of us who are not offended by colorful language that’s only intended to motivate and inspire. This blog is, quite honestly, for me. Yes, me. I know I’m writing it...but I’m writing it to myself and people like myself who need a jolt. This is for you as well, if the title motivates, inspires or invigorates you to get into action.
The words are simple to say; the actions not so simple to do. If you have a goal, chances are there are lots of little steps that need to get done before you can even think about reaching the first milestone. The goal itself is beautiful and you can have a good idea about the things and tools you need to equip yourself with to get it done, but starting can be the hardest thing you can do. Something else always needs to get done, something always grabs your attention. I know, I’ve been there. I’ll be there again but my advice is: just start. No really, start. Do 1 little thing. And that “thing” doesn’t have to be the very first thing you think needs to get done. It can be as simple as creating a free email account that you will use for your goal. No matter, just start.
Start where you are, with what you have.
Changing your daily habits is a good place to begin. Say you get off work, log off your day job and head to the couch to unwind. While there, you no doubt have your phone. Instead of scrolling the socials and getting nothing out of it, create a free account that you will use to automate some part of the goal you’re trying to reach. It could be a content creation app, task tracking app or visit a stock phot website to get brand ideas. Do something, while you’re doing...nothing.
Use what you’ve got, to get what you want.
Speaking of phones, you likely have one....subsequently, you have an app that you can keep notes on, right? All phones do. There’s also tons of free apps out there to keep notes too, so go get it. Start listing, in no exact order, what tasks need to get done in order to reach your goal. This activity is more of a brain dump...taking everything you have in your head that’s piling up and causing procrastination and putting it down on “paper”, err, the notes app I just advised you to use/get. These things are now your actionable steps, the things you need to do, in small chunks as you change your daily habits that get you to your goal. Got a laptop, even better! You have more than enough to get your sh!t together. (that don't really count as a cuss word, does it?)
It’s not easy, but I promise it’s worth it. The only thing that comes to a sleeper is a dream, so stop sleeping, GET OFF YOUR ASS, and make it happen.
